Bethel worked for Mercy Corps Ethiopia on a USAID funded project for 3 years. Her role as an Investment Fund Manager involved setting up a $6M investment fund, screening companies and selecting and structuring grant agreements and contracts. Bethel was responsible for overseeing six portfolio companies in different sectors operating in Ethiopia. These include Belcash Technologies, Jigjiga Export Slaughter House, and AgFlow Farms.
Prior to her work with Mercy Corps, Bethel worked within the hospitality industry for six years in different organizations in Ethiopia and the UK. Bethel obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management with first class honors from University of Plymouth in the UK.
